The Hellenistic culture was responsible for the introduction of Linguistics in the contemporary world, which was started in Alexandria and used to teach languages till today. Philogy and textual criticism were also started in Alexandria, and they were used to stabilise the texts of the language of the classics. Several schools of philosophy which have been very influencial such as Stoicism and Neo-Platonism trace their origins from the Hellenistic culture. Some statues in Buddhism are also related to this era.
