Would a wall be effective in preventing illegal immigration from Mexico to the US.?

Trump's proposed wall is the physical manifestation of something that's already apparent: his fear and suspicion of non-white people. The wall would cost billions, and there's been no way established yet to pay for its construction. If it is built, Mexicans have options. They could climb over it. Tunnel under it. Pole vault over the top. Use a grenade to blow a hole in it. And all of this, by the way, ignores the fact that most Mexicans come into America in a planes that fly comfortably above the height of any wall. But in practice, Trump doesn't need a wall to deter Mexicans. His toxic comments on Twitter and rallies have succeeded in reducing Mexican migration anyway. It's estimated that tourism from Mexico to America will reduce by $1.1 bn in 2017, and $1.6 bn in 2018. Hatecrimes against Mexicans have increased since Trump started using terms like 'wetback' in his speeches. The effect of all that on illegal immigrants? "We're experiencing a net outflow of illegal, undocumented workers from America back to Mexico," U.S. Rep. Ron Kind, D-La Crosse, said Feb. 16, 2017 on Wisconsin Public Radio. "To build a wall now would be locking them in this country."

The President Donald Trump decided not only to 'build a wall' to seal the southern U.S. border, but want Mexico to pay for it, at a cost of some $10 billion to $38 billion.

Whereas, Mexico reiterated it's refusal to pay the bill. This is a fact that a wall helps to a limited extent, as it’s limited at best, impractical at worst, and very expensive.

The best thing is that, with a market based visa system, Donald Trump can physically end illegal immigration within a month or two, even without a wall. And, staffing solutions and technological innovations can actually work for US Customs and Border Protection.

So, A Wall is not a solution to securing the southwest border, or any border for that matter.

Trump's border wall will help because there are still hundreds of thousands of immigrants coming into our country. It has nothing to do with being scared of "non-white people" my family is Mexican we imigrated here legally the right way. It makes us mad that so many people will not wait like my family did so many years ago. If you are going to come you must come legally or not at all. We cannot contain herds of people that is why America has protocalls that they follow, just like every other country in the world. In other countries, it is even harder to get into them. I do not agree with President Trump on a lot of things he says and does, but I do believe his is right about the wall, and if his comments on Twitter repel people so be it. I have not heard of the immigrants going back to Mexico or their respective country, actually I have heard the opposite a caravan, several caravans!
