How can I get involved to help migrants in the USA?

There are many ways to help migrants in the United States. These include: supporting immigrant-owned businesses, voting for bills that give migrants rights, advocating for migrant rights, hiring migrant workers and compensating them fairly, supporting migrant scholarships, supporting migrant programs, and advocating for local migrants. In certain areas of the US, the majority of residents are highly against migrants. Creating opportunities or even just a friendly environment for migrants in these areas would also be helpful. Using your voice as a citizen to help advocate for migrants is one of the biggest ways to help.

One could help migrants in the USA by choosing the areas which, according to statistics and personal views, play the most significant role in the wellbeing of migrant communities. For example, one could choose to study, teach or write research on the topics related to African American literature, civil rights' movements, and internationally recognized migrant writers living in the USA and writing about the lives of migrants.These activities would allow a person to be a voice of the migrant community and promote its rights in a way that takes builds upon racial and migration history of the country, thousands of individual migrant stories and experiences, and connects them with the present. This knowledge base would provide migrants who are developing their identities upon relocation to the US, centered around common principles, values and deep respect towards human rights.
