I have been reading a bit on this subject and I have found articles showing that the number of volunteers for non-profit organizations has been increasing in Slovenia. I think this is a good example of an improvement in civil society since it shows the people are getting more interested in contributing to society by helping others even if they don’t get anything in return. A rise in volunteering also means more people are opening their horizons to new experiences and that is a key to improve civil society and the individual itself because with no new experiences, everything remains the same, there is no learning and so there is no improvement. The fact that the number of volunteers is rising goes to show the people’s interest in improving their society and everything around them.
