What does the EU get in return for accepting Syrian refugees from Turkey?

Damascus is one of the world's oldest cities, in an area that's been called the cradle of civilisation. And our civilisation has shown its values by destroying both city and the country of Syria fundamentally because of the west's desire for oil - Rupert Murdoch is just one of the people on the board of Genie Energy, who are drilling there to ensure Murdoch's newspapers continute to roll off the presses. It's the last gasp of a gerentocratic elite who want to acquire all the wealth they can before the world is transformed by wide access to cheap energy from renewable sources. And the very least that the EU can and should do in return is accept Syrian refugees from Turkey. Look at the world from enough of a distance and you'll see that all these crazy decisions are made by members of the same species - and we need to look after one another.
