While dual education is a fantastic way to introduce students to the 'real world' and get them ready for and involved in actual work, it does have its pitfalls. For instance, some students can end up in an environment where they're not comfortable with all the procedures and are unsure how to communicate their concerns which, in turn, may lead to a lack of job satisfaction on behalf of the employer. Before students are expected to take on tasks involved in vocational education, it's important that they have an understanding of what they're getting themselves into and what exactly is expected of them. For instance, if a student hasn't ever worked and is then thrown into the job they thought was their 'dream job', they're going to get incredibly flustered and confused about the process, and not know the specifics of how to work with an employer. The UK, for instance, seriously lacks training for life before work, so this needs to be covered before dual education in pursued; at the moment, secondary schools lack the learning curve, and that needs to be put in place.
