In the year of 2015 European Union Member states received a great number of asylum applications from the middle Eastern countries. This increased number of asylum seekers was due to ongoing war in middle East, especially in Syria. When the number of refugees increased by a great number, the response by the host counties became a concern. There were three main responses by the EU i.e. openly accepting, moderately accepting and the restricted response. Some of the member states of EU accepted the refugees without any reluctance and helped them to get integrated into European society. Germany and Sweden welcomed the refugees warmly and openly. Then there were countries that opened their borders for refugees but with certain policies financial assistance from EU. For instance, Italy allowed the refugees but made it dependent on EU support. On the other hand, there were members of EU who strengthen their borders in order to restrict the refugees from entering. Hungary, a country on the external border of Europe, made sure not to let any refugee in.
