Trump stated that the Paris Agreement undermined the U.S. economy and put the U.S. at a permanent disadvantage. He quoted these reasons when he pulled out of the Paris Agreement. I do not believe that either of these reasons are founded, and more importantly, I don't even think that Trump believes these "reasons." I think Trump does not understand, and most importantly, does not care about, climate change. Trump seems to believe that pulling out of the Paris Agreement will help American companies and workers; at least, that's what he has stated in the past. I do not see how this could be true. Luckily, the earliest possible withdrawl date for the U.S. is one day after the next presidential election. This, plus the states who have taken it upon themselves to uphold the Paris Agreement's objectives, may give the U.S. a chance to rejoin the nations who have taken it upon themselves to help our planet.
