By 2050 the proportion of foreign-born Americans are projected to reach 20 per cent. By 2050 the Hispanic population is projected to nearly triple to 133 million and will account for 30 per cent of the United States population. The Asian population is projected to rise more than 9 per cent, making up 41 million US citizens. By 2050, it is projected that nearly 4 per cent of the US population will identify themselves as multicultural. American's whom identify themselves as either Asian, Native American, Hispanic, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander will in combination shift the American population to encompass 54 per cent of the US population. The US population is estimated to be 438 million in 2050. People of foreign origin in the US will constitute the majority of the population between the ages of 18 and 29.
