The only way significant change to the climate can be achieved is through radical action and change. While countries are making efforts to arrest global warming, it isn't enough. I believe the barrier we face as a species to changing something like climate change is that we don't see major change in our lifetimes. The process is occurring at a pace that an average person doesn't respond to emotionally. The exception is parts of the world where the change is occurring more rapidly. Take the tiny island nation of Kiribati, for example. The entire island is at ocean level and within a single lifetime, islanders living there are observing that their available land is being swallowed up. The voice of people like this may be a powerful catalyst for encouraging radical action. We can only hope.
