University is known for many to be one of the most important, significant and enjoyable parts of an individuals life/journey. Whilst at university, everyone is working on their own individual path to finding their future. Being part of this, and being able to provide your experience and skills to them is incredibly rewarding. Perhaps you can teach a subject that you love or something that you feel really driven and passionate about, and in doing this you will be driving others to reach their goals and careers, and maybe even changing views and creating new passions for others along the way.
With most universities comes flexible working. Many departments allow lecturers to work from home when they are not required to teach on campus, leaving more time for family commitments as it is less of a "nine to five" role. As well as this term time dates vary and can allow a lot more holidays than in other professions, which can also be seen as favourable.
