Why should we want to be servant leaders even if we are not compensated by it?

Servant leadership is one of the best and most selfless approaches to leadership given the kind of commitment and rigour it requires. The bigger compensation of being a servant leader is the development, growth and learning that comes with being one such leader. The idea of building relationships and investing others diametrically multiplies when it comes to servant leadership and that is some compensation which many other roles fail to provide. Especially since servant leaders go beyond their self interest to focus on all the different opportunities available for the entire team of followers grow and develop. Most often it is a case that servant leaders use persuasion over power or authority to get things done.
